Carolyn Callahan joined the Curry School Foundation Board of Directors in 2004

Carolyn is the Commonwealth Professor in the Department of Leadership Foundations and Policy at the Curry School of Education and is site director of the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented. She received her B.A. from University of Connecticut (1969), her M.Ed. from University of Connecticut (1970), and her Ph.D. University of Connecticut (1973).

Carolyn has served on the board of directors of the National Association for Gifted Children for more than 20 years and was its president in 1997. She has also served as president of The Association for the Gifted (a division of the Council for Exceptional Children) and is the chair of the Research on Giftedness and Talent Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association.
