Sandra Galef joined the Curry School Foundation Board in 2005.
Sandy has been a member of the New York State Assembly, 90th Assembly District, since 1993, where she currently serves as chair of the Assembly Real Property Taxation Committee. Prior to becoming a member of the New York State Assembly, she served as a Westchester County Legislator for thirteen years, eight of them as minority leader of the Board of Legislators. She also served as president of the New York State Association of Counties and as Chair of the Welfare and Medicaid Steering Committee.
On the national level, Assemblywoman Galef has served as chair of the Labor and Employee Benefits Steering Committee for the National Association of counties and was awarded a fellowship for the Eastern Leadership Academy at the University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute of Government from the Council of State Governments.
Sandy received a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University in 1962 and a masters degree in education from the Curry School of Education in 1965. She currently resides in Ossining, New York.
