A maximum of 3 units may be transferred from another college or university, though a maximum of 12 units may be earned under Professional Development status and transferred in. No requirements may be completed more than five years before the M.Ed. is to be awarded. Exceptions are made via petition only when emergency interrupts student work.
M.Ed. Internship Opportunities:
Internship opportunities in schools, corporations and government agencies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region give the IT student valuable skills and experience in a variety of work settings. These placements are not required, but they are strongly recommended for students who will be changing careers upon completion of the degree program. They normally consist of approximately 160 hours of professional work as a member of the hosting organization.
Sites are chosen in consultation with the major advisor well in advance of the anticipated starting date. If internships are undertaken for graduate credit, they will involve completion of a separate academic component (to be selected with the advisor).
