Faith Powers
In addition to working full-time as a Project Assistant for an
international consulting firm in Bethesda, Maryland, Faith is
currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Instructional
Technology at George Mason University. As an undergraduate,
Faith attended Dickinson College, where she received a B.A. in
Spanish and East Asian Studies. She was awarded a fellowship
by The American University and received a Master's degree in
Spanish and Latin American Studies as well as a Certificate in
Translation. Her interest in instructional technology arose as
a result of the service component of her fellowship that
required her to work 20 hours per week in AU's language lab,
where she created computer-based exercises to accompany the
textbooks used by foreign language students and experimented
with multimedia applications. Faith is hoping to be able to
combine her knowledge of foreign languages and theories of
second language acquisition with what she learns in her
instructional technology courses in order to eventually design
innovative and effective software applications.
