Peggy has been teaching courses in instructional design and performance technology at Northern Illinois University for three years. Prior to NIU, she spent six years as an instructional designer in business and industry. She developed and is currently teaching the Advanced Instructional Design course for NIU's masters and doctoral students in Instructional Technology. Margaret's research interests include distance education, streamlining instructional design, and models for problem-based/action learning.

Chuck Ennis

Chuck is currently pursuing a doctorate in instructional technology at Northern Illinois University. While serving on active duty in the United States Navy, he is designing CBT applications for the navy at its basic training center in Great Lakes, Illinois. He received a master's degree in management and a masteržs degree in human resource development from Webster University.

Robert Renk

Robert is a Masters candidate in the Instructional Technology program at NIU. He works as the Business Manager for the NIU Alumni Association and manages the Alumni world-wide-web home page. He received his B.S. from NIU in 1987 in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management. He worked for six years as a sales manager in the midwest and in the Washington, D.C. area. He spent two and one-half years working in the Alumni Career Counselor for NIU. His interests are in CBT and user interface design.

Jeff Salus

Jeff is an I.T. master's candidate in Instructional Technology at Northern Illinois University. Jeff has his Bachelor's degree in Communications. He spent the past year as an independent training consultant and recently joined Whittman-Hart, Inc., in Chicago.

Mary Samardzija

Mary Samardzija is currently working on a doctorate degree in Adult Education with a cognate in Instructional Technology. Her program focus is in Human Resource Development. She has a Masters degree in Adult Education from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in Computer Education from National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. Prior to her graduate studies, she taught Social Studies at the high school and middle school levels for a total of 12 years. More recently she has worked as an instructional designer and trainer for Commonwealth Edison (electric utility company). Research interests include action-reflection-learning, accelerated learning, quality of worklife, and learning communities or learning organizations.

Catherine Schmitt

Catherine is a doctoral candidate in Instructional Technology at NIU. She has been a trainer at ComEd and is currently a full-time instructional designer for Ameritech, a telecommunications company in the midwest.

Carl Wrede

Carl will graduate in the summer of 1997 with his Masters degree in Instructional Technology from NIU. Currently, Carl is employed as an intern at ComEd in Oak Brook, Illinois where he is involved with management and evaluation of vendor-delivered training programs. Carl's long term employment goals include performance consulting or instructional design. He and his wife, Jodi, have an eight-month-old son named Jack and they live in Bensenville, Illinois.
