David Jonassen is Professor and Head of Instructional Systems at The
Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Jonassen has previously taught at the
University of Colorado, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro,
Syracuse University and Temple University and consulted with businesses,
universities, and other institutions around the world. He has
authored/edited sixteen books and hundreds of articles, papers, and
technical reports. His current research focuses on designing
constructivist learning environments, cognitive tools for learning,
knowledge representation methods, and individual differences and learning.

Jeroen Breman
Jeroen was born 27 years ago in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. After high school he studied Educational Science and Technology at The University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. After graduation in 1995 Jeroen worked for one year as research assistant in the Department of Educational Science and Technology in Twente, before making the big jump over the ocean. In the fall of 1996 he enrolled in the doctoral program in Instructional Systems at The Pennsylvania State University.

Chad S. Carr
Chad is a Ph.D student and graduate assistant in Instructional Systems at the
Pennsylvania State University, and a member of the Link-to-Learn Development team. Chad has experience as a high school teacher, technology trainer, staff development coordinator, researcher, instructional designer and mentor for science
programs.

Mike Halm
Mike focuses on the integration of multimedia technology into the mainstream of academic and administrative activities For Penn State. His activities include multimedia prototyping, consulting, and interactive multimeida projects using a variety of software environments. These projects have been presented or created for clients such as IBM, Apple, NASA, DuPont, Lucent Technologies, and local Penn State audiences. He has 14 years experience in graphic design, instructional television, computer graphics, multimedia development, and training. Mike has also been associated for four years with the Department of Horticulture, Landscape Contrtacting Program where he teaches computer-aided-design, video imaging, and visualization techniques. He is pursuing a graduate degree in
Architecture with an emphasis on the uses of technology in the teaching. In particular, he is interested in the implementation of the virtual design studio as a method for teaching studio courses at a distance.

Tiffany A. Koszalka
Tiffany earned her Masters in Instructional Technology about 10 years ago, after completing undergraduate degrees in Biology, Math, and Psychology. For the last several years she has been an active instructional technologist in the corporate environment. She has worked for Arthur Andersen Center for Professional Education (management consulting orgaanization), Pepsi-cola Applied Training and Communication, and Blessing/White Product and Technical Development (off-the-shelf human resources training products). Tiffany has worked in all phases of instructional systems design and with many types of delivery systems, e.g., trainer/instructor-led, self-paced paper and computer, and high-end interactive multi-media. Last semester she began her doctorial studies in pursuit of a research and academic career (maybe!?). Her main interests are in the design of learner "accepted" interactive multimedia and helping to build multimedia design skills in instructional designers.

Mark Toci
Mark is a Ph.D. candidate in the Instructional Systems Department at Penn State
University, and also serves as Senior Instructional Designer on Pennsylvania'a Link to Learn project (
http://www.ed.psu.edu/~insys/L2L/Links/L2L.html).
Previously, Mark was Asst. Director of the Penn State Upward Bound Math and
Science Center. He has five years teaching experience in the pubic schools, and is interested in creating new learning environments for kids. (Also: Mt. biker, Snowboarder, Rock Climber.)

Karen I. Wagner
Karen is in her third semester of study at the Pennsylvania
State University, working toward a Ph.D. in instructional systems with a
corporate emphasis. In addition, she holds an M.A. from Penn State in
telecommunications studies and a B.A. in journalism. She is employed as a
public information officer for the office of university relations. Karen's
work-related experience includes customer service and marketing management.
She has participated in several conferences and symposiums delivering
presentations on intellectual property in a digital environment.
