Gary R. Morrison

Gary Morrison is a professor and program coordinator of instructional design and technology at the University of Memphis. He has written over 100 papers and book chapters on instructional design and computer-based instruction and is coauthor of Designing Effective Instruction with Jerry Kemp and Steve Ross. He has designed a variety of media materials including television and radio programs that were broadcast nationally, and more recently he has designed a number of multimedia units for introductory chemistry and statistics. He is also a faculty associate in the University's Center of Academic Excellence where he is responsible for the Instructional Design Center. Gary is the associate editor of the research section of Educational Technology Research and Development.

Deborah Lowther

Deborah Lowther is a faculty member in the College of Education at The University of Memphis. She is currently teaching a series of courses that lead to a state recognized Certificate of Instructional Computing Applications. Her research is centered on factors influencing the integration of technology into various learning environments.

John Ward

John is a former grocery store owner, coach (debate, math games, tennis), and high school teacher (math, special ed). Currently John works fiendishly toward a doctorate at the University of Memphis. John's research interests include design of educational simulation and gaming. A fine example of which is the current case competition. Nice coincidence.

Jeffrey Fry

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Memphis from the Master of Arts in Teaching program for secondary education. My undergraduate work was in German and Psychology. I am curently working on my Doctorate in Instructional Design and Technology. I am very interested in designing desperately needed, effective software for foreign language instruction and English as a second language classes.

Pam Gold

Pam Gold is currently employed as an instructional designer at FedEx. In addition, she is pursuing her doctorate at the University of Memphis and has been serving as the managing editor of the research section of Educational Technology Research and Development. Her interests include multimedia and performance support technology.

Bob Plants

As Residency Education Manager for the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis for ten years, Bob has coordinated program planning, curriculum development, and evaluation for this graduate medical education program. He is currently a doctoral student in Instructional Design and Technology with an emphasis in K-12 education.

Posey Saunders

After a short stint in the world of advertising, Posey decided to try her hand at Instructional Design. She entered the University of Memphis' Masters Program in 1990. After completing her Masters, she was off to Michigan to gain some "real life" experience at Dow Chemical Company where she designed a sales training curriculum for the Liquid Separations Department. Missing the world of academia and making sure she knew all there was to know about ID, she returned to Memphis to pursue her doctorate. Gaining a wealth of opportunity while working as a graduate assistant she has worked on various projects including the evaluation of corporate training classes and the development of a reading manual for Senior Citizens mentoring at-risk youth. She is currently working with the Project SMART team which trains teachers how to use computers as tools in their classrooms.
