Peggy has been teaching courses in instructional design and performance technology at Northern Illinois University for three years. Prior to NIU, she spent six years as an instructional designer in business and industry. She developed and is currently teaching the Advanced Instructional Design course for NIU's masters and doctoral students in Instructional Technology. Margaret's research interests include distance education, streamlining instructional design, and models for problem-based/action learning.

Diane Alberts

Diane is pursuing her Master's in Instructional Technology at NIU. For the last three years she also has worked at MetLife Insurance as a training consultant. After graduation, Diane hopes to secure a job where she can do instructional design work on a full-time basis.


Katherine Frank

Katherine is a Master's candidate in Instructional Technology at NIU. She has a B.S. in Economics from NIU and worked for several years in retail purchasing. She is currently employed in the Purchasing Department at NIU.


Nancy Garrison

Nancy Garrison is a graduate student in the Master's program in Instructional Technology at NIU. She is also employed full time as an Instructional Design Consultant with CARA Corporation. She has experience with designing and developing computer-based, web-based, and classroom-based training.


Lori Hamilton

Lori is currently a graduate student in the Master's program in Instructional Technology at NIU. She will be graduating in May, 1998 and is searching for employment in the field with an emphasis on instructional design. During her graduate school experience, she was a graduate assistant in the Office of Distance Education. Most of her time was spent designing, developing, and implementing a training program for first-time professors teaching courses via two-way videoconferencing. Other interests within her assistantship were designing the homepage for NIU's Online University, along with sites online learners would view to access information about the Online University. In her spare time, Lori enjoys mountain biking, hiking, making silk flower arrangements, and traveling. Write to her at: lhamilto@niu.edu


Betty Hornor

Betty will graduate in the summer of 1998 with a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from NIU. She is currently working as an independent consultant in the areas of technical writing and systems documentation. Before discovering her true calling, Betty spent 10 years as a systems analyst and programmer. She looks forward to bridging her two careers after graduation through CBT and the design of instructional materials for technical applications. Write to Betty at bhornor@niu.edu.


Sheryl Lombardo

Sheryl is currently a Master's student in Instructional Technology. She has a M.S.Ed. in Adult Education from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. in Communication Arts from Cedarville College.


Michelle McElwee

Michelle is a Master's candidate in the Instructional Technology program at NIU. She anticipates graduating in the Summer 1998. The past seven years of Michelle's career has been spent in special and regular education working with a variety of age levels and impairments. Michelle is looking forward to the new paths that her degree may take her.
