Gary Moorman is currently a Professor in the Reading / Language Arts Program
at Appalachian
State University in Boone, North Carolina. He received his Ph. D. in Secondary Education with
concentrations in Reading and Linguistics from Arizona State
University in 1979. He has published two books, Designing Reading Programs and Learning to Teach Reading, and his articles appear in a variety of professional journals, including Reading Research Quarterly, Journal of Reading, Reading Teacher, Reading Psychology, and Reading Research and Instruction.
His current professional interests focus on literacy, critical thinking skills, and technology.
