In coordination with the Curry School of Education, the Saturday and Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) seeks to offer gifted and/or high ability students a rich and rewarding learning experience. Modeling best practices in curriculum and instruction, the SEP staff works as a community to maximize potential in each student and foster a passion for lifelong learning.

SEP hosts two programs throughout the year. The Saturday program serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade and the Summer residential program hosts students in rising fifth through eleventh grade. Please click on the corresponding links for further program and application information.

Summer Enrichment Program

Update for week of June 22: Session One is now underway. Students are settling into their residential suite groups and into their classes. Sometimes when students speak to their parents on the phone, they can become homesick or have their homesickness intensified. Please help your children by staying positive while talking with them. Rather than telling them about what is happening at home, ask them about what they are doing at camp. If they are having a challenging time in their class, encourage them to stick it out rather than requesting to switch. We have an amazing array of teachers and classes and a talented team of counselors. We work very hard with each group of students to not only give them a challenging and broadening academic experience, but to make sure they thrive socially and have a lot of fun. This does not happen overnight for every student, but there are very few students who go home from SEP saying they have wasted their time or have been unhappy. Please support our efforts during your phone conversations with your children. If you have any questions or concerns after speaking with them, please don't hesitate to call the Head Counselor (number on your Parent card) or our office the next morning at 434-924-3182. You can be sure that we will contact you immediately if we sense that your child is not thriving here whether due to illness or social/emotional adjustment issues.
