Ruth Ferree returned to graduate
school to study brain processes for language after working
22 years as a French teacher in public schools. Her
graduate school courses focused on brain mechanisms
and child development. She interned in a neuropsychology
assessment lab and as a research associate in neurosurgery.
She currently teaches courses in second language acquisition,
language assessment and teaching methods, giving lectures
on brain mechanisms whenever she can. She sees technology
as an invaluable resource which has put access to authentic
language materials just a click away.
