Glen Bull is currently a professor of Instructional Technology in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. He also serves as co-director of the Curry Center for Technology and Teacher Education. The Center's mission is to identify ways in which technology can be used to reconceptualize K-12 teaching and learning.

He is editor of Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE Journal). This peer-reviewed journal is jointly sponsored by five professional associations representing science education (AETS), mathematics education (AMTE), English education (CEE), social studies (CUFA), and educational technology (SITE). He also is author of a on-going column in the ISTE publication, Learning and Leading with Technology.

He previously served as director of Teacher-LINK, one of the nation's first regional K-12 Internet systems, and developed one of the nation’s first statewide K-12 Internet systems, Virginia's Public Education Network (PEN). He is a past president of the Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE), and a recipient of the VSTE Honors of the Association, "intended to recognize an educator who has made a significant difference in the advancement of educational technology in Virginia over a period of years.” Nationally, he is a founding member and past president of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE). In 2000 he became the second recipient of the Willis Award for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Technology and Teacher Education.
