Students in all Instructional Technology
graduate programs complete a core of 30 units of graduate level
courses. These courses have been selected
in order to provide students with a broad but firm background
in the areas of Instructional Design, Computer-Based Learning,
Media Production, Learning Theory, Educational Evaluation,

program in IT are advised to begin their course of study in
the Fall semester due to the curriculum sequencing. It is important
for students to meet with their advisor to determine a course
of
study as
soon as possible after admission to the program.

*NOTE for ESL Students
International students and others whose native language is not English are required to contact the UVA Center for American English Language and Culture at the beginning of their first semester of study and have their language proficiency assessed. It is required that they enroll in the recommended courses, if any, resulting from this assessment. This requirement is independent of scores on GRE and TOEFL exams.
