Summary and Suggestions: |
Margaret Sinclair has created an interesting way for students to learn about functions, statistics, graphing, inverse variation and more! She provides a questionnaire for students to complete and uses the results as the basis for an applied-algebra project. I recommend teaching SOL A.15-18 first and using this unit as a practice/review. Also, to include inverse variation (recently moved to Alg. II, but still of potential interest to interested students!), you need to add a question about time spent on homework each week. Compare the results of this new question with the question about time spent watching TV (I don't promise an inverse variation, but I suspect one!) |
