Effective Technology Integration Garners Educational Rewards (eTIGER) The material developed for this site provides administrators with a starting point for understanding the complex and seemingly overwhelming task of integrating technology into the educational process. Many of the critical issues are identified and presented in a context that will allow for careful and thoughtful examination of the factors that will lead to successful technology integration into the educational process. The primary focus of this material concerns the issues, tasks, and policy matters that must be addressed by administrators if technology integration is to be successful in the schools. Two kinds of material are provided. One involves the presentation of issues and policies that have been found to be important for administrators to understand. It is important to consider the specific's individual role to understand how to adapt to the required change process. It is important for the users to spend a reasonable amount of time reviewing "Before We Begin..." Module 2. This module provides the basis for understanding and viewing the entire process of technology integration in the schools. The critical factors for measuring the progress and success of these integration efforts are also presented in this section of the material. The links to the left provide access to different uses of the material. The "Learning Modules" presents the material as it might be used in a live training session with the presenter providing the details of the session through interactive sharing and discussion with the individuals in the training session. (Not shown on this site are LearningLinks modules that are used for individual self-paced study. The LearningLinks modules were created using VisualBasic and allow the individual to move through the materials in any order and will track all uses of the program and provides testing to evaluate understanding of the materials.) The "Training Materials for Modules" provide the background information that serves as a starting point for the trainers. The second type of material involves the use of "case studies" to provide a range of examples that will allow the users to understand and analyze the different situations and approaches that could be considered. |
