SATURDAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
In conjunction with the Curry School of Education, the University of Virginia announces the 27th year of the Saturday Enrichment Program for gifted and/or high ability students. Students enrolled in grades K-5 during the 2009-2010 school year are welcome to apply. The program runs for five consecutive Saturdays beginning January 23rd, 2010 and ending February 20th, 2010 (with February 27th as a snow date). SEP offers three program locations in the state of Virginia. The classes offered at each location are unique. You can see a list of classes at each location by clicking on the location name:
Charlottesville - on Grounds at the University of Virginia
Charlottesville classes are held from 9:00-11:00am OR 11:30- 1:30pm. Tuition: $150.00
Orange County - at the Locust Grove Elementary School in Locust Grove, Va.
Orange classes are held from 9:00am-11:00am. Tuition: $150.00
Fauquier County - at the Highland School in Warrenton, Va .
Fauquier classes are held from 9:00am-11:00am. Tuition: $175.00
ACADEMICS
Students in the program are engaged in learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creative thinking, and inquiry processes. Instruction is differentiated to meet the individual readiness, learning profile, and interests of each student. A variety of course offerings across fields and disciplines offer students the opportunity to participate in authentic learning experiences that model the work of experts. The teaching staff of SEP utilizes best practices to maximize potential in each student and ignite a passion for lifelong learning.
