  1. Students will recognize England's importance in the establishment of the Jamestown Colony.

  2. Students will appreciate the importance of the Virginia Company as it relates to the creation of the Jamestown Colony.

  3. Students will recognize the role of the indentured servants as it relates to the establishment of the Jamestown Colony.

  4. Students will identify the occupations of the original settlers as it relates to the creation of the Jamestown Colony.

  5. Students will recognize the problems endured by freedmen in Colonial Jamestown.

  6. Students will recognize that the Englishmen's rights took precedence over the rights of slaves.

  7. Students will understand the importance for transferring tobacco to the Jamestown Colony.

  8. Students will comprehend the importance of slavery in the cultivation of the new cash crop, tobacco.

  9. Students will recognize the important role of tobacco in trade with England as well as for the continued vitality of the Jamestown Colony.

  10. Students will recognize the important role of the Headright Law in the establishment of the Jamestown Colony.
